I am excited to introduce to you, Hyles-Anderson College of the Philippines. I was saved as a 12-year-old boy in a church started by Dr. Bruce Goddard, a graduate of Hyles-Anderson College. Answering God’s call to preach, I, too, enrolled at Hyles-Anderson College. It was at Hyles-Anderson College that I met my wife, Kelly, the mother of our eight children and to whom I have been married for nearly 18 years. I graduated from Hyles-Anderson College with a B.S. degree as well as with a Masters degree in Missions. I taught on the faculty of Hyles-Anderson College for 5-1/2 years in the Bible and Missions Departments.
Going to Hyles-Anderson College gave me the wonderful privilege of becoming a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. For 10 years, I listened to Dr. Jack Hyles as he preached from both the pulpits of First Baptist Church as well as Hyles-Anderson College during chapel services. Since the Lord took Dr. Hyles to Heaven, Hyles-Anderson College remains the premier place for teaching and training servants of God.
You might be thinking that I’m bragging about myself. No; I’m bragging on my alma mater! I love Hyles-Anderson College and all that it stands for. That is why I am so excited to introduce Hyles-Anderson College of the Philippines to you. God has assembled a great team with which I get to work on a daily basis as we serve the people of International Baptist Church at Dumaguete. You’ll not find a finer group of Christians than those who serve with me, who happen also to be graduates of Hyles-Anderson College. I believe they have been selected by God to help teach and to train future generations of pastors, missionaries, and the women who will serve with Him, in the Philippines and throughout Asia.
We have brought to the Philippines the same sound doctrine and practical training that we were blessed to receive. We believe we have a duty to teach the same philosophies and Biblical principles that Dr. Hyles and those who served with him instilled in us. We want to help others to make an impact for Christ in this world. Our college classes will begin on October 1, 2012. In the meantime, our staff is working to prepare so that we are ready to offer our students the best possible training available.
To our friends in America and around the world who also love Hyles-Anderson College, we want to ask that you help us to pass on what we have learned by becoming a Founding Donor to Hyles-Anderson College of the Philippines. We are also in need of many who will become Student Sponsors to help make it possible for young men and women to attend Bible college. More information about how you can give and become a Prayer Partner is available on this site. God bless you and thank you for your prayer and support as we begin training Hylanders in the Philippines.
